Citing torture in India, the terrorist has appealed to the US Supreme Court to immediately stop his extradition. US President Donald Trump has announced that Tahawwur Rana, the mastermind of the 26 November 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, will be extradited to India. Now Rana has approached the US Supreme Court as a last ditch effort to stop his extradition, citing the risk of being tortured in India.

63-year-old Rana said in his petition, "If the stay is not granted, there will be no review. The US courts will lose their jurisdiction and the petitioner will die soon." The terrorist has also cited his religion, Pakistani origin and human rights report to stop his extradition.

Rana has filed a petition in the US Supreme Court asking for an emergency stay on his extradition. In his petition, Rana has said that there is a high possibility of him being tortured in India because he is a Muslim of Pakistani origin.

According to India Today report, in his petition, Rana said that being a Muslim of Pakistani origin, he would be harassed a lot in India.
