The administration has become strict on obscene Bhojpuri songs in Bihar. Now it is planning to take legal action against playing such songs in public places, buses, trucks and auto-rickshaws. The state police headquarters has issued orders and instructed all IGs, DIGs and railway police. On International Women's Day, the state police headquarters said in a letter that strict action will be taken by registering a case against those playing obscene songs in public events, buses, trucks and auto-rickshaws.

Legal action should be taken against those who play obscene songs at such places under sections 296/79 of IPC 2023 and other sections. Earlier also, the demand to ban obscene songs had been raised many times, but now the government has decided to take strict action on this. On the occasion of Holi, obscene songs are played at many places in the state, this time strict action can also be taken for doing so.

Strict steps are being taken to ban double meaning Bhojpuri songs. Police wrote in the letter that obscene songs make women uncomfortable and have a bad impact on children. ADG has issued an order and directed all officers to run special campaigns and register FIRs in such cases. The order further states that women have to face embarrassment due to such songs being played in public places, buses, trucks and functions. People say that some Bhojpuri singers are using obscene words, double meanings, and objectionable language against women in their songs. There is a need to be more cautious about these songs during festivals like Holi. Many social sections have opposed such songs and orders have been given to take legal action against those who upload them on social media. BJP spokesperson Kuntal Krishna praised the important decision taken by the Police Headquarters on Women's Day and said that the police will take strict action against those who make double meaning songs in Bhojpuri, which is the language of the common people, this is a welcome step.
