Holi Namaz Row: This time Holi and Juma are falling on the same day, Friday (14 March). The administration does not want to leave any stone unturned due to Friday prayers on the day of Holi. In this sequence, in view of the festival of Holi, it has been announced to offer Friday prayers after 2 pm in all the mosques of Lord Ram's city Ayodhya. Mohammad Hanif, an important cleric of Ayodhya, has issued comprehensive guidelines for Friday prayers. It has been said that in view of the festival of Holi, Friday (Juma) prayers will be offered after 2 pm in all the mosques of Ayodhya.

Hanif, chairman of the committee of the Ayodhya-based Masjid Sarai, told PTI that the timing of Friday prayers will be changed keeping in mind the Holi festival. "Keeping in mind the timing of the Holi festival, we have instructed all mosques to offer Friday prayers after 2 pm, as Friday prayers can be offered till 4:30 pm," Hanif said.

In an effort to promote communal harmony, 'Amir' Hanif of the Tablighi Jamaat Markaz in Ayodhya wished people a very happy Holi. "We wish our Hindu brothers a very happy Holi. We join in their happiness and stand with them in the celebration," he said.

"I have also urged all members of the Muslim community to show patience and generosity during Holi. If someone applies colour on them, they should respond with a smile and say 'Holi Mubarak' with a spirit of love and respect," Hanif said.

Local people praised

He said that this is not the first time that Holi and Juma have come together. This has happened many times. He said that this is an opportunity for us to promote unity. Local businessman Saurabh Vikram Singh praised the move to change the timing of Jumme ki Namaaz.

He said, "In our town we never put colours on our Muslim brothers because we understand the importance of maintaining peace. The spirit of cooperation always prevails and whenever Holi and Juma come together, the celebrations pass in a peaceful and harmonious manner."

The administration took these big steps

Ayodhya District Magistrate (DM) Chandra Vijay Singh informed about the steps taken for security arrangements for the festival. He said that Holika Dahan will be allowed only at traditional sites. Singh said, "To ensure safety and prevent any untoward incident, Holika Dahan will be done only at established places. It has been banned at new places."

He said a control room has been set up to deal with any emergency. "We are also deploying police personnel at all Holika Dahan sites to maintain order. The administration is alert, especially in view of the holy month of Ramzan. Peace committee meetings are being held with religious leaders and prominent members of the community in towns and villages to ensure a peaceful festival," the DM told PTI.
