Kullu Landslide Video: Six people died tragically when a huge tree fell on several vehicles following a landslide near Gurdwara Manikaran Sahib in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district on Sunday (March 30). Officials said a tree on the hill in front of the gurdwara got uprooted following a storm and landslide. It fell on some vehicles parked on the road, killing six people and injuring three others, they said.

Officials said the injured were sent to Jari Hospital for treatment. Kullu sub-divisional magistrate Vikas Shukla told reporters at the spot that medical teams, police and revenue officials were present at the spot and coordinating rescue and relief operations.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur have expressed deep grief over the incident. Sukhu has directed the district administration to provide all possible assistance to the victims and their families. He has also directed the officials to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured.

Officials said that the landslide occurred near the gurudwara at around 5 pm on Sunday evening. During this, people sitting on the roadside were hit by a big tree, which fell down along with the debris. According to the information, those killed in the landslide include a roadside hawker, a car driver and three tourists present at the spot.

A fire brigade team from Jari has also reached the accident site. The police are yet to identify the deceased. A police team led by the Manikaran Station House Officer (SHO) was present at the spot, coordinating rescue and relief operations. The regional revenue agency is also present at the spot.

A video shows cars parked near a food stall next to the mountain. Cars were crushed by falling tree branches and a man was heard crying and saying 'Maa' and 'Chale gaye, chale gaye' while standing near a Kayal tree that had fallen on a car. Manikaran is at an altitude of 1,829 metres. It is about 40 km from Kullu.
