In our country too, people are earning a lot of money from content. Such people are called content creators on internet media. The craze of creating content is increasing not only in India but all over the world. Lakhs of youth are now not only making their career through content creation on YouTube, Instagram.
Now, the influencers who create content in India are going to have a great time. The central government is going to give money to the content creators in our country. The central government has announced the launch of a fund of 1 billion dollars to support the creator economy.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has announced a new fund at the World Audio-Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025. This fund will be run under Public-Private Partnership (PPP), which will provide financial help to content creators and enable them to take their work to the international level. Apart from this, approval has also been given to set up Indian Institute of Creative Technology (IICT) at a cost of Rs 391 crore. This institute will be like IIT and IIM and will be built in Film City, Goregaon, Mumbai. High level training related to content creation and digital media will be given here.
Contributing to GDP
India's creator economy has now grown into a $30 billion industry and contributes 2.5% to the country's GDP. Influencer marketing is also growing rapidly, with its value reaching Rs 3,375 crore. The government has launched a global e-marketplace called WAVES Bazaar. The aim of launching this will help connect Indian creators to the global market.
Through this, content creators from fields like film, TV, gaming, music, animation and esports will get global opportunities. According to a report by EY, 12% of creators in India are earning between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 10 lakh every month. 86% of creators expect their earnings to increase in the next two years.
