J&K Attack: Pakistan will not improve! Firing again on LoC, Indian soldiers injured in the firing

Pakistan ceasefire violation: An army soldier was injured in an incident of firing on the Line of Control (LoC) in Akhnoor sector of Jammu on Friday (14 February). Security officials said that the said soldier was posted at an advance post in Battal area when he was hit by a bullet from across the border from Pakistan. They said that the soldier was immediately taken to the hospital. At present, his treatment is going on.

Officials said that it is too early to say whether the Pakistani army or terrorists are involved in this firing incident. Earlier, there was news of ceasefire violation in Poonch, in which 10-15 bullets were fired from Pakistan side. The Indian Army has said that the ceasefire on the Line of Control (LOC) is intact. Both the armies are following it.

On Wednesday, some reports quoting army sources claimed that Pakistan suffered heavy losses during the Indian side's retaliatory action in Poonch district. However, the army has not made any such claim in its statement which was made on some social media handles. The army said, "The ceasefire along the Line of Control is intact and is being followed as agreed between the two armies."

"The tension due to some sporadic incidents of firing from across the LoC and suspected IED explosions is being dealt with through established mechanisms. There has been no incident of firing from heavy-calibre weapons. Minor incidents across the LoC are not unprecedented," the statement said.

The army statement further said that during Wednesday afternoon, the Pakistani side fired unprovoked on the Indian side. After that the Indian Army also retaliated. The army statement said that the concerns have been raised with the Pakistani Army at the appropriate level.
