Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, cofounder of Patanjali Yogpeeth, has called the tariffs imposed by the US President as "economic terrorism". Responding to a question about US President Donald Trump's tariff policy, Ramdev claimed that it is a kind of "economic terrorism" and "tariff terrorism" and it is taking the world to a different era.
He said that amid the dangerous situation developing in the world, "we need to make India strong and developed, because some powerful countries want to take the world towards destruction."
Ramdev was speaking to reporters on the occasion of the inauguration of Patanjali Food and Herbal Park in MIHAN, Nagpur.
Yoga guru Ramdev on Sunday condemned the desecration of a Hindu temple in California and said India should take the initiative to stop "religious terrorism".
Ramdev told reporters on the sidelines of an event here that Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is the ideal for the people and not Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
A prominent Hindu temple in California was defaced by some unidentified persons and anti-India slogans were written on the walls. This is a new incident of targeting the holy places of the community in America.
The Bochasan-based Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) said its Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in the city of Chino Hills in San Bernardino County, which borders Los Angeles County, was desecrated.
India on Sunday strongly condemned the incident and demanded "strong action" against those involved. New Delhi also demanded adequate security for places of worship in the wake of the incident.
When asked about this incident, Ramdev said that the way 'Sanatan Dharma' is being targeted by 'religious terrorists' in Europe, America and Britain is extremely shameful.
He said, "The whole world is suffering from this religious terrorism. The heads of various countries need to find a way out of this and India should take the initiative for this."
In response to another question related to Aurangzeb, Ramdev said that the Mughal emperor cannot be an ideal for the people of India.
He said, "He was from a family of looters. Be it Babar or his family, they came to loot India. They tortured thousands of our women. They cannot be our role models… Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is our role model."
