VIDEO: 'I leave Bangladesh to PM Modi…': Yunus Sarkar in tension due to Donald Trump's announcement

Modi-Trump meeting: US President Donald Trump has given a big statement saying that the Prime Minister will take care of Bangladesh. In response to a question on the political crisis going on in India's neighbourhood, Trump has said that the American deep state has no role in Bangladesh. He clearly said that PM Modi will take care of Bangladesh. This statement of Trump shows that the world has a new boss – India's PM Narendra Modi. PM Modi will take the decision about India's neighbour, not America.

US President Donald Trump denied any role of America in the ongoing crisis in Bangladesh. Donald Trump, who was sitting with PM Modi in a press conference after a bilateral meeting in Washington, dismissed the question asked on the Bangladesh crisis. He said, "I leave Bangladesh to PM Modi."

A journalist asked Trump during the press conference, "What would you like to say about Bangladesh, because we saw and it is clearly visible how the US deep state was working there during the Joe Biden administration? Then Muhammad Yunus Jr. also met Soros. What would you like to say about Bangladesh in the whole context?"

On this question, Trump said, "Look… our deep state has no role. This is an issue on which the Prime Minister has been working for a long time. He has worked on this for many years. I have been reading about it. I now leave Bangladesh in the hands of the Prime Minister."

When Trump said this, Prime Minister Modi was sitting next to him. America has stopped all aid to the Bangladesh government led by Nobel Prize winner Muhammad Yunus. The Donald Trump administration has announced an immediate stop to all work in Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, former Bangladesh Prime Minister Khaleda Zia's Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Thursday said it hopes India will send her rival Sheikh Hasina back to her country so that she can be prosecuted.

This statement of BNP came a day after a United Nations report claimed that last year there was an attempt to remain in power through systematic attacks and killings on protesters.

Bangladesh's foreign ministry said that if necessary, a letter requesting Hasina's extradition would be sent to India last year. Hasina's Awami League party's nearly 16-year-long rule collapsed on August 5, 2024, following a student movement. Due to this, she left Bangladesh and went to India.
