A shocking incident that has torn apart relationships has come to light from Meerut, where a wife, in connivance with her lover, brutally killed her husband who had returned from London. Police said on Tuesday that a woman from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, in connivance with her lover, allegedly stabbed her Merchant Navy Officer husband to death and later cut his body into 15 pieces and put the remains in a drum and filled it with cement.
Police said that after the body was recovered, the woman Muskan and her lover Sahil have been arrested. On March 4, 29-year-old Saurabh Rajput, who worked in the Merchant Navy, was reported missing.
This incident took place in Indira Nagar and the incident came to light when a foul smell emanated from the house. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ayush Vikram Singh said that investigation was started after getting information about the case.
He said that on the basis of suspicion, the police detained his 27-year-old wife Muskan and her 25-year-old lover Sahil.
During interrogation, the two confessed to have stabbed Saurabh to death on March 4. The two then chopped his body into pieces, put the remains in a drum and sealed it with cement.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and a case has been registered based on the complaint by Saurabh's family. The accused have been arrested, the official said.
According to the victim's family, Muskan tried to mislead them by sending messages from Saurabh's phone.
Singh said that after committing the crime, she went to Shimla with Sahil for holidays.
Police said that their families were reportedly unhappy with their relationship, due to which the couple were living separately in a rented house in Indranagar Phase-1 with their three-year-old daughter.
