Traffic Challan: Do you have a pending challan of Delhi Traffic Police? If yes, then this is a great opportunity to settle them in the National Lok Adalat on 8 March 2025. Take a printout of the challan and reach the court on time and avoid fines. National Lok Adalat will be held on 8 March 2025 in collaboration with Delhi State Legal Services Authority and Delhi Traffic Police. Pending compoundable traffic challans and notices of all types of vehicles, private and commercial, will be settled in this Lok Adalat. Only those challans and notices will be accepted which are shown pending on the Delhi Traffic Police portal till 30 November 2024. Apart from this, other legal matters like matrimonial disputes (except divorce), land acquisition cases etc. will also be settled.
Golden opportunity to settle bills
Delhi Police has appealed to vehicle owners to come forward to settle their pending traffic challans, spot challans, GRAP (pollution-related) rule violation challans and other notices on March 8, 2025 between 10 am and 4 pm.
Which cases will be settled?
Two types of cases are settled in Lok Adalat. First, cases related to traffic police and second, legal disputes.
1. Traffic Police Challan/Notice:
All compoundable challans/notices which are pending till 30th November 2024.
2. Other cases include:
Criminal Compoundable Offences
Cheque Bounce (Section 138, Negotiable Instruments Act)
money recovery cases
Motor Vehicle Accident Compensation Case (MACT)
Labor Dispute
Electricity and water bill dispute
Marital disputes (except divorce)
Land Acquisition Cases
Service matters relating to pay allowances and retirement benefits
Pending revenue cases in district courts and High Courts
Other civil cases

How to settle your invoices?
According to the public notice issued by Delhi Traffic Police, it is mandatory to download and print all challans/notices from the Delhi Traffic Police website before taking them to the Lok Adalat. There will be no facility for printouts in the court premises.
To download the challan, log on to the website https://traffic.delhipolice.gov.in/notice/lokadalat from 10 am on March 3, 2025. A maximum of 60,000 challans/notices can be downloaded daily.
How many challans will be settled?
Each bench in Lok Adalat will dispose of a maximum of 1000 challans/notices. A total of 1,80,000 challans/notices will be disposed of in 180 Lok Adalat benches in Delhi. A maximum of 7 (5 notices and 2 challans) notices will be accepted for a private vehicle and a maximum of 2 notices/challans will be accepted for a commercial vehicle.
