Mumbai's great spin bowler Padmakar Kashinath Shivalkar has died at the age of 84. He was fondly called Paddy Shivalkar in the cricket world. Shivalkar was suffering from age-related diseases. Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) President Ajinkya Naik confirmed his death. Shivalkar was one of the greatest players of Indian cricket who never got a chance to represent India in international cricket. Meanwhile, Sunil Gavaskar says that like other players, Padmakar also deserved to play in the Indian cricket team.
According to media reports, Shivalkar participated in a total of 124 first-class matches between 1961-62 and 1987-88. He took 589 wickets at an average of 19.69. Apart from this, he got 16 wickets in List A cricket. In this way, despite taking more than 600 wickets in total, he could not get a chance in the Indian team.
