Lalu Tejashwi summon: Lalu family has received a big blow from a Delhi court on Tuesday (25 February) in the land for job scam. Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court has summoned former Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav in connection with the land for job scam. Special Judge Vishal Gogne has also summoned Lalu's son and former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav and daughter Hema Yadav. The accused have been directed to appear in court on March 11.

The judge issued a fresh summons to Tejashwi Yadav, the younger son of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo and former vice-president of Bihar. The Lalu family will have to appear in court on March 11. The case relates to Group-D appointments made in the West Central Division of the Indian Railways located in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The CBI had registered a case against Lalu, his sons and daughters and wife and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi in May 2022.

The alleged scam is linked to Lalu Prasad's tenure as Union Railway Minister between 2004 and 2009. According to officials, these appointments were made in exchange for gifting or transferring land plots in the name of the RJD supremo's family or associates during Prasad's tenure as Union Railway Minister between 2004 and 2009.

A case was registered against Prasad, his wife, two daughters, unknown government officials and private individuals, among others, on May 18, 2022. The court issued the summons after taking cognizance of the final chargesheet of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the corruption case.
