IT company Wipro has appointed Amit Kumar as the Managing Partner and Global Head of Wipro Consulting . This appointment has come into effect with immediate effect. The company said in a statement that Amit Kumar, who lives in New York, will report to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) Srini Palliya. He will also join the Executive Board of Wipro.
The statement said that Kumar has over 24 years of consulting experience in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. He will lead Wipro's efforts to pursue consulting-based, AI-powered growth. He will also guide clients through changes in business and technology.

Prior to this role at Wipro, Kumar served as Managing Director of Accenture Consulting. Over the past 17 years, his roles at Accenture Consulting included US markets and Industry X consulting. Amit is a graduate from St. Stephen's College, Delhi and holds a Masters in Management from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune.
