The counting of votes took place on February 8 and the party won 48 out of 70 seats. The Aam Aadmi Party, which was in power in Delhi for the last 10 years, lost the elections.
In this election, prominent leaders of Aam Aadmi Party and even cabinet ministers had to face defeat. For example, apart from AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal, senior party leaders – Manish Sisodia, Satyendra Kumar Jain, Somnath Bharti, Saurabh Tiwari, Rakhi Birla and Durgesh Pathak also had to lose their seats.
