Molestation at Holi party: A 29-year-old TV actress has filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police against her co-star. In this, the actress has accused him of molesting her during Holi celebrations in Mumbai on Friday (March 14). According to the actress, the accused was drunk and despite her protests, he forcibly applied color on her. Disturbed by the incident, she approached the authorities, after which a case was registered against the accused.
According to reports, the incident took place at a Holi party in the western suburbs of Mumbai on Friday. The actress alleged that her co-star came in a very drunken state and tried to apply colour on her despite her protests. In her statement to the police, the actress said, "He was trying to apply colour on me and other women in the party. I didn't want to play Holi with him, so I resisted and left the place."
"I hid behind a panipuri stall on the terrace but he followed me and tried to put colour on me. I covered my face but he grabbed me forcefully and put colour on my cheeks," the actress said in her complaint, reported Free Press Journal.
The actress further said in her complaint that after applying colour, he then told me, "I love you and let's see who saves you from me. He then touched me inappropriately and applied colour on me. I pushed him away. I was mentally shocked and went straight to the washroom."
She further told the police that when she told her friends about the incident, they confronted the accused actor. However, instead of backing off, he allegedly misbehaved with them too. The accused actor has been charged under Section 75(1)(i) of the Indian Penal Code.
After the incident, the actress immediately approached the police and lodged an FIR against the accused actor. Investigating officials have confirmed that a legal notice has been issued to her. Apart from this, the police is recording the statements of other guests at the party. CCTV footage is being reviewed to gather further evidence.
The actress, who has appeared in many popular TV shows and mini-series, said that the company where she works had organized a Holi celebration party on the rooftop of the building. Her 30-year-old male co-star also attended it.
