They defeated defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at their home ground Eden Gardens. In this match played on Saturday, KKR batted first and scored 175 runs in 20 overs. But RCB achieved this target in just 16.2 overs and registered a spectacular victory. At the same time, RCB defeated KKR after almost three years. Earlier, they defeated KKR in 2022.

With this win, RCB has opened its account in the points table of IPL 2025 and the team has started in a great way. RCB took 18 year old revenge

Earlier in 2008, both the teams came face to face in the very first season of IPL. KKR registered a spectacular victory in this match in the first season. In that match, Brendon McCullum played a brilliant innings of 158 runs, which is considered one of the most memorable innings in IPL history. Now after 18 years, in 2025, the first match was played again between RCB and KKR, this time RCB won.
