Currently, the price of 22 carat gold in Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata is Rs 83600 per 10 grams, while the price of 24 carat gold is Rs 91200 per 10 grams.

Rates in Jaipur, Lucknow and Chandigarh

The price of 24 carat gold in these two cities is Rs 91350 per 10 grams. The price of 22 carat is Rs 83750 per 10 grams.

Gold imports from 48 countries in FY24

India imported gold from 48 countries in FY 2023-24. In a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasad said that India levies import duty on gold either on the basis of Major Favoured Nation (MFN) or on the basis of Free Trade Agreement (FTA). Under MFN rates, the import duty on gold is 6 per cent. Whereas for unrefined gold it is 5.35 per cent.
